    I have a similar situation here Max 2014 / Vray 3.6 and yes, while Vray Next is beta and there are still some compatibility issues, especially with Forest Pack Pro etc. I decided to try it, by installing it on a different version of Max, so I can at least check it out, though have been so busy this month, I haven't really had a chance to play with it much. So again, yes you can install it on Max 2017 without interrupting your Max 2014 installation.

    We're still on Max 2014/Vray3.5 for Production. Can I savely install VrayNext for max 2017 without interrupting my 2014 installation ?

    The OptiX denoiser is also scheduled for beta 2 in February.
