I don9t seem to have viewport, performance problems. Can pan zoom etc in view with materials with maps displayed.

I have accepted/installed,all,of the windows 10 updates and had no problems arising from that.

also installed al, the nvidia driver updates. That nvidia experience or whatever it is does not work very well. I usisally have to to nvidia site to download and then install. There seems to be anew one every month which becomes a tedious hassle to keep insalling so many updates. Seems excessive and I don’t get why so many are continuously coming out. But..... they have not caused me any problems.

I'm looking at upgrading today. What's the general consensus? Seems to be a mixed bag.

lol Im in the same boat, downloading 2019 and the SP1 right now but hesitant to deploy it at all. I thought there was a problem with my windows install or 2018 because I have the same problem in 2018 with the double click bug in the render settings windows.
        Cheers,

I took this message to mean the PUD (and not -> 2019), the PUD I uninstalled almost immediately as it drastically affected my viewport performance to an unworkable level.

As far as 2019 (from 2017 in my case) is concerned, I haven't had a single failure yet and I've been using it for a few weeks now.

          For me, a good update.

Unless you happen to live outside of the US or UK and get these problems.

              "*SPECIAL NOTE*
A viewport performance issue for scenes with many poly-meshes was discovered in the 2019.1 update release. We know that viewport performance of 3ds Max is critically important to our users, so we are happy to announce update 2019.1.1 which addresses the problem. We are grateful to our user community for pointing out the issue early, which allowed us to resolve it quickly after release."

3dsMax 2019.1.1 has been released today.
Kudos to 3dsMax dev for prompt response.

The install time for max updates is ridiculous. Always wondered why this has to take sooo long. The 2019.1.1 took >1h... Luckily I had some non max things to do..
Pretty happy with 2019 so far btw. Seems to be quite solit. (for a 3DS Max at least )
