  • 3dsMax 2019.1 – Attaching large amounts of meshes is up to 7 times faster

One of the improvements of #3dsMax 2019.1 is “Attaching large amounts of meshes is up to 7 times faster”. So.. I tested it
    http://cganimator.com/3dsmax-2019-1...7-times-faster/

The enhancement was done for Collapse utility. I think 3dsMax dev choose to enhance this because this is the only attach which keeps
explicit normals.I test total 4 files. I open the file and attach all geometries.
    The result is… drum roll…

It is actually far better than 7 times!

Interesting. I never knew about this utility. I've always attached objects from the Attach button of the selected object. This might come in handy with big scenes.

If it`s anything like previous versions you`ll still have to use `Attach` as Collapse destroys material assignments etc.

^yeah I thought collapse did a lost of nasty things, and was also not undoable!?
Treated it as one of those filthy legacy features not to touch.

If you want to preserve material ID, use custer attach script.
If you wantr to preserve the explicit normal from CAD, you have to use this.
