from standard to Vray material??

When I change a standard material to a Vray material it used to ask me if I wanted to keep all the associated maps etc, I'm pretty sure anyway, but now it does not. Is there a setting that I'm missing to check as a default to ask that question? Thanks for any advice.

Hey Peter.

I've never seen that when switching to a vraymtl. I do see it regularly when switching map types. For instance, when I open a bitmap, and switch it to a noise or mix map, it asks whether I want to discard the old map (the bitmap) or keep it as a submap of the new map.
