  • Photmetric lights don't work....???

    I'm using version 1.09.03 and VIZ2005.

I've created a very simple scene - a closed room with only one light.
If I set up a normal spotlight from VIZ all works fine, but when I use a photometric light tha scene is completely black. I've even tried to multiply my light with 50000%.

There is a lot of headlines in the Render Scene dialog box. Which one do you need?

Can't find the upload function..... is it my profile that has restrictions or is the upload function the same as the image link feature?

Your screen shot clearly shows you are using Photons .. IES do work but the multiplyer has to be to high ...

Use i different calc method like Irr map .. then you will be fine.

The most important thing about IES Lights is that you must draw to scale ... your model isnt ... your walls are 413 feet high lolol .. ies are phisically correct lights so must your model be !!

I always draw in this scale: 1 unit = 1 mm

Is there a way to scale the light or some global scale? - or do I have to scale down my building?

first you should set your max units to a scale .. either inches or feet or mm... and then draw as you would expect the walls to be ... 2700 mm for example .. your walls are huge and that is the reason the ies is not working.

Thanks a lot. I think the scale issue will solve a lot of my problems.

In my scene I have set up one light i a completely white room. When rendering the scene has a very white dot on the floor and the rest of the room is very dark. I've set my secondary bounces to 0,9 but it only helps a little. Which parameter am I missing?
