  • Is it possible to set VRay file thumbnails?

    Hi Guys,

Recently I've been using VRscene files as a way to work between software, in particular Rhino to 3DS MAX.

Whilst it is an awesome feature, I'm finding it increasingly frustrating that I can't see a thumbnail showing what the file is.
This isn't necessarily a problem if its a one-off scene model, but when dealing with 100+ object libraries such as People/Vehicles etc. it becomes difficult.

So far the only workaround I've found is changing the import option to "All Files" and then referencing an Image file with the same name. (see Image 02).

Although this option is only available in 3DS max so it's a bit of a one way street if I'm bringing something back into Rhino. (Image 03).
Without 'drag and drop' functionality the only way for me to reference an image file would be to have two instances of file explorer open at the same location all the time.

Is it possible to implement a feature that would allow you to associate a render with a VRscene as you export it?

It may seem like something small but I think it would greatly enhance the user expericence for people working with massive material/3D libraries.

    Cheers,

      hristo.dimitrov Great thanks for that!

Is there a way to track the progress of the request?

I'd love to see this implemented in the near future as it affects me daily.

      Cheers

Unfortunately, no. Our tracking system is only for internal use.
For that reason, I give you the reference code (VMAX-7695) so you can ask us for the progress on this specific request.
