Looks promising if it works, imagine if/when that tech is in Vray. Denoise and upscale to final res in one.

Edit - tried it out now - and love it!

I ended up purchasing it. I scaled an image up 600% and it was flawless, just as good as the original.

Yes its pretty surprising. I emailed them, see below some interesting feedback -

          * Your license key will work with both the Mac and Windows versions of the software.
          * Your license key will work on up to two computers as well (Mac or PC).
          * Our developers are working hard on making this software compatible for video. Keep your eyes on our websites and social media for more information on this in the coming months!

Can you imagine once its working on video as well! I've run 10+ test using different resolution up scales and on different content, HD frames, VR's, and all have performed to near unnoticeable changes.

Okay here is the example. I up-scaled it 600%

great example, thanks! Definitely impressive, love how it both cleans noisy areas and almost adding detail in the wall texture. Be nice to see this extra step added into the vray denoiser!

                    Hi,

We usually render at 8k+ the longest side of an interior or exterior image. Now I can render at 4k+ easily and scale later. When you have a good but not so low res. image to scale up, the results are incredible.
My render times are close to 3 to 4 times less now.So far using Brute force was not possible due to render time increase and timeframe to deliver a job. Now I can increase the quality if needed.
It is really like having tripled my processing power.
There are two major things to improve, at least for us.
A batch processing is a must have.Like select a folder at once.We can render videos at HD and scale to fullHD or from fullHD to 4k without problem.
The other one is the alpha channel .The channel is there but my sky in the background is gone. So we have to render a tiff without channel and use the alpha from the vfb to separate the background instead.
                    Not really an issue.

                    Best regards,
                    Fernando Blanco

I wonder how stable this is if you were to run it over an animation?

Upon closer inspection I found some strange blocky artifacts in the upscaled image. It seems the software is heaving trouble with out of focus parts of the image. It almost looks as an area from a sharper part of the image was inserted there.
Other than that, the result is quite impressive.

Unless the original has something happening there. I'll have to look.

I just did a couple 2K images and sampled up to 4K and it looks perfect! That's a 4X speed increase.

You can drag and drop a bunch of images, so it does batch, but it isn't very fast. I only tried the GPU, assuming it is the fastest; I'll try GPU later. This is a huge deal.
