Incremental Animation rendering?

Hi all,

I was reading this article https://www.chaosgroup.com/blog/unde...able-rendering
At the bottom he mentions incremental animation rendering which sounds great from what i can understand but I havent got a clue how to do it.
Could anybody shed some light on this please as this would be a life saver for the projects i am doing.

You would need to be using deadline as your render manager to script it.

you would send the render with resumable rendering turned on as a progressive render with each frame time set to 5 minutes each and the script would tell the job to restart when it's done. you could do this without scripting by restarting the job manually.
If you were scripting you could make it do 1 minute first pass, 5 minutes second pass, then a 30 minute third pass or whatever, it wouldn't be complicated for someone who knows their way around deadline scripting.
