  • distributed multiframe incremental?

    hi, ive been trying to distribute the lighting calculation for a flythrough.

    all was going well, all 6 servers picked up job no problem (am using a precalculated lightmap (flythrough) for secondary bounces)

    trouble is, they all did the first frame, then promptly all dropped out and only the host machine is doing subsequent ones..

    is this a bug or does multiframe not work with distributed?

    nope. doesnt work. been that way since distributed irradiance map 1st came out. we have been hopping that they find a solution to this but for now sorry dude. doesnt work

      ahhh DAMN! was kinda counting on that one

      i guess the next closest thing would be to distribute the first frame to get a nice detailed starting map quick, then load locally on each server, and add to that map, each one doing a different chunk of anim, before merging the 6 maps at the end... hmmm.... not the simplest..

          It is, but the upcoming changes in DR support animation.
