  • Why is linking a dummy to Vray Cam better ?

    Hi all,

Im doing some animation stuff and ive been seeing all over that its better to link a camera to a dummy and use that on a path instead of just using a path.

Im wondering why this is actually better though ?

    Thanks for any help

Still learning so be patient with me please

linking to dummy still lets you move/rotate the camera where you want while at same time following the animation of the dummy. If you stick the cam directly on the path, it's literally ON the path and you can't move it away from the path easily
    Kind Regards,

Right that makes sense i will definitely use more dummy's then, thank you for explaining that

You can also parent multiple dummies to each other to assist with complex camera animations. For example if you have a shot where the camera is simultaneously orbiting and moving closer to an object, you can have one dummy do the orbit and one moving closer, instead of a complicated spiraling animation path.
