So, whenever I render something as a matte object, and set alpha contribution to -1, I don't need the matte objects to render reflections. Typically those will already be in the other pass.
Now, I don't know what the history is with this feature, because I've been experiencing V-ray do both, but not at my command. I had a project once, where several matte objects rendered like I wanted them to (without reflections), until one day, a new matte object I created had the reflections. But the other objects still didn't. I also had a project where matte objects would render without reflections locally, but with reflections on V-Ray cloud.
Disabling reflections in the material is not an option, as I am rendering water where I want it to refract the surface's proper reflections, and have the surface itself be a matte.
Thanks for any help.
