Hmmm...I always have DR on in general and never ran into any time increases. They only time I couldn't use Progressive successfully was in animations since I needed longer times to get a clean keyframe. Keep in mind that I go back and fourth for my needs. So I use both.

kosso_olli i managed to hijack one farm slave to profile on, and it's still going (i tried base res, half and a quarter, progressive and bucket, with and without the REs set.).
Interesting that progressive did better in your test, what was the original render resolution?
Resolution for that test of the Mercedes was 4000x3000px. As I said, bucket gets stuck on the headlights. Curious what you are going to find out. One thing that caught my eye while using progressive: The CPUs are only utilized to around 80%. I rarely see it spike up to around 95, but never higher. On bucket, the whole system is used at a 100%. We have machines with 56 cores. Might this be a hint?
