  • Xrite Axf Files

Hi I have been supplied an Axf files by a fabric supplier and am wondering if there is a way to integrate it with Vray Next and 3ds max 2018. Has any one had any experience with AxF files. from the little i can find out online it is similar to a substance texture but more inline with the accuracy of vrayscans.

The xrite website says that “We listened to our customers who asked for the ability to use AxF files on V-Ray and are now very excited to deliver this plugin to the market,” says Dr. Francis Lamy, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, X-Rite and Pantone. “AxF support in such a popular rendering engine as V-Ray is an important step for workflow simplification and physically correct digital appearance democratization.”

“V-Ray artists and designers are always looking for a fast and easy way to render realistic materials,” said Lon Grohs, Vice President at Chaos Group. “This is a great opportunity for our customers to take advantage of X-Rite’s powerful AxF format on their V-Ray projects.”

however i am unable to find anymore details.

Thanks bobby, Now I have to find a way to export the image maps as the plugin is incompatible with vray cloud rendering and rebus render farm but at least i am able to render locally
