  • VFB Doesn't show

    Hey folks,

Bit of a strange one here; I've recently opened a project that I'd made some 6 months or so ago because we're doing an animation of it.

I've gone through and set up a folder to save render outputs, and hit render... 3DS max appears to start the render process (the icon on the taskbar goes green as it cycles through various bits) but nothing ever shows up on screen; no VFB, no render-progress dialogue, nothing. It does however appear to render because it does save the final output to the folder that I'd set up.

My first assumption is that the VFB is simply appearing off-screen, however when I mouse-over the icon on the task bar in windows - it only brings up a thumbnail of the 3ds max window, not the VFB (like it usually does).

I have tried resetting the vray settings by setting to another render engine, then switching back to vray. No luck.

    Any ideas?

Update: It's started working now. Absolutely no idea why. The vray frame buffer opened when I opened the max framebuffer. Odd.

Glad that it's working now; I usually maximize the VFB from the task bar and it tends to show up.

        Best regards,
        Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

That's the problem; it wasn't showing on the task bar at all.
