  • compatible RTX cards with the latest 4.0xx Vray?

    Hello guys

I bought two new nvidia RTX cards. I guess I should purchase the 4.0xx vray right?

Can anybody confirm that these new cards are compatible with the latest vray, otherwise I won't purchase it.

    Thanks!

So it turns out that it works! I have an RTX 2070 card, which unfortunately have no sli connection, but I'm planning to purchase another one, can Vray work both of the card without SLI or Nvlink? If not, I will change it to a 2080 one.

It will work but with 2 x 2080 (or even better 2080 Ti) you can combine the memory of the cards.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Thanks, is that the only benefit? Wouldn't it be faster as well?

2080ti is faster than 2080 and 2080 is faster than 2070, of course :

So it turns out Vray 4xx doesnt work with two 2070 RTX cards. It only sees one card not the other one.

Check if other tools can see them, f.e. MSI Afterburner. V-Ray GPU doesn't have any problems with rendering with multiple cards (no matter what they are) as long as the system is running properly and the drivers are reporting the right number of GPUs in the system.

The 2070 rtx have no possibility for SLI connection?

No. This is a hardware limitation. It just doesn't have the connectors and all that on the board.

I have been using 2x 2080ti since they came out and it works perfectly with Vray. Just buy it and you won't regret it.
