Chaos Group forums being down

Our forums were down for most of the day as they were hacked due a security hole discovered in the phpBB forum software. It has been updated and fixed. Hopefully, no other damages than changes to 2 tables of the forum were achieved.

the 'rebuilt' forums have a different URL...they used to be at chaoticdimension.com/forums/phpBB2/ but now at /forums/zaphp2/phpBB2/ which is kinda confusing for anyone who had bookmarks or links from outside...

Also, something got corrupted somewhere and the display code is getting a little screwed up, see this thread for an example:

We were actually back much faster but we took our time to determine as to why the quoting didn't work - that is what took us the rest of day. It had something to do with the default handling of data by php. So quoting is back to normal...

Anyway... let's hope there won't be any exploits cruising around soon.

well it looks like the chaos guy's are going to have to set the permissions again .. ouch .. perhaps that was the reason for the hack ?
