  • Motion Blur only on one object in scene, all other no? Help Pls.

Have not found a clear working way to do this. Can someone give me a run through.
I need only on helicopter blades. Do I turn motion blur on in the Vray Tab under camera? In camera does motion blur need to be on? Do I click motion blur by object in object properties? What do do?
    Thanks !

I ran in to this post from 2014, from Vlado. So is a moving camera still make it impossible to only motion blur certain objects? I don't have camera motion blur on though, only motion blur on the left of that checked..? It changing samples to below one in V-Ray object properties the main/only way?

If the motion blur is due to the object itself moving or deforming, go to the V-Ray object properties, turn off “Use default moblur samples” and set “Motion blur samples” below it to 1.

If the motion blur is due to camera movement, there is no way to turn it off for one object only.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

There's a motionblur duration mutiplier in the vray object properties of the objects. Maybe you can set it to 0.0 .

Turn motion blur on in render settings camera tab. Go to your rotor blade and in vray obj properties uncheck use default mb samples, then set the samples to 6 or 12 for rotor you need that much. If you do not wish to have any mb on other objects set their samples to 1 which means no mb, If you do not want camera blur you can uncheck it in render settings.

thanks I will try this. Confused as to which rollouts are in control. there is enable motion blur in vray render tab under cameras, then again in the camera settings, then again in the vray render properties for the object, then again another setting in object properties. do all these need to be set right. or is vray object properties an over ride to all of it?

physical camera has its own motion blur. I believe the global option is just for regular camera. The vray object properties control explicit per object motion blur. In real physical terms, you should not have separate samples for geometry as in reality. So this is breaking the physicalness of the scene if you will in terms of motion blur.

You can turn camera motion blur on or off, but it will affect everything that is visible on the screen (because it affects the camera, not the individual objects).

              Best regards,
