  • Common eye distance for stereo?

Is there a consensus on the "normal" eye distance we should use when rendering in stereoscopic for VR? The Chaos Labs document guide on VR lists 63mm as the average (page 15). I've seen several other pieces of software use 63.5mm. However, Vray's own stereoscopic helper object defaults to 65mm when you drag it into a scene, and several users here have mentioned they use 65mm.

I don't know how much difference the 1.5mm really makes, but I'd like to render scenes with the normal consensus, if there is one.

Otherwise, is there a chart that shows the typical eye distance for gender or ethnicity?

    Thanks,
    Matt
