Max Minimizing Maximizing

While rendering, the way I minimize Max is to use my 'show desktop' button in my 'quick launch.' Unfortunately, I can't maximize to the way things were until the renderer stops rendering. Any ideas how to get it back to it's initial open state so I can ocassionally check on progress?

hehe yeah i do that by accident occasionally, kinda annoying the first few times. But once you work out how to get it back its no drama. I used to hope that autosave had done its thing and then force quit max.

Or press 'window-button' +M to show desktop and 'window-button' + shift + M to go back

its not quite an accident - it lets other apps run more smoothly if minimized. normally I wouldve just waited till the render finished.
