This was a confusing process which I would hope someone could help me straighten out. I always manage to generate some sort of error when loading in .vrmaps.
1) Rendered an image with DR.
2) Autosaving .vrmap (IR) to local directory (e:\textures). This local directory is viewable via UNC (\\compname\textures\) and also configured in all instances under max path (associated via UNC \\compname\textures\.)
3) VRmap saves valid to the local directory (e:\textures\).
Questions:
1) Should I have saved .vrmap to the UNC instead? I don't think it matters.
2) If using DR and reloading map, does it matter if .vrmap is in a shared network directory?
3) If adding 'Add to current map' in future renders from different camera angles, does it matter if .vrmap is in a shared network directory? I'm not sure if Max/Vray locally pulls in information from teh network and rewrites it on the main computer to the 'source' file.
