  • 3ds vs Standalone - displacement

    Hello guys.
We are working on a new project, and i wish to be able to render complex scene using vrscene (to be able to use a Linux renderfarm) but i have noticed différents between normal rendering and vrscene rendering.

Here's one easy to reproduce, with a simple checker in a displacement + vray Sun.
    Rendered with 3ds 2020, vray 4.10.03

Click image for larger version Name:	VrayStandalone_displacement.jpeg Views:	1 Size:	780.8 KB ID:	1031690

Is the Vray Cloud supported feature match to the Vray Standalone supported features ?

    Thanks !

Can you post the scene? Looks like in 3ds Max the scene uses 2D displacement, but in the standalone the 3D displacement method is used. This could be a bug in the exporter, but it would be best to check the scene to confirm.

      Best regards,

        Here's the .vrscene file.
For your information, the image i made was not a vrscene exported but a vray Cloud preview. (is the vrayscene created by the cloud submiter is saved anywhere ?)

          Up !
          Tested with 4.20.01 (& 3dsmax 2020.1)

3D displacement is still not rendered correctly in the vrayCloud preview.
2D displacement is pixel perfect between local rendering & standalone. I really need this for 3dDisplacement, it's a critical point for rendering animation in cloud

          Thanks !
