  • Thermal imaging visualisation

    Hey guys and girls,

I need to produce an animated shot simulating a thermal imaging shot of a room, and I was hoping someone might have some ideas or suggestions as to how best to achieve this?

Initial thoughts were to use AO as a base, then using masks (for hot objects) with blur and noise, to simulate the colour change in the thermal view.

But just wanted to know what others might have done.

    Cheers,
    Dean

Yep that could work and save an extra plugin if you don't have it already. I guess the AE route may offer a bit of post-prod speed and tweaking ability - but whatever gets the job done

I'm just not as handy with AE / post as I am with vray and 3D. You never know the client might hate my proposal, and end up going down the AE route!

Sure - got to use whatever is familiar and most comfortably predictable really. I'll be interested to see the results
