"overlay" blend mode on vraycomptex

how to recreate this blend mode in vray copmtex? ive got a b/w map and i wish to use it to both lighten and darken a base map as i can in photoshop.

Whilst it's not using vray's node, could you not just use max's composite node?

good suggestion.. however, for this project-it depends if it works with gpu.... ill do some tests but im not holding my breath.
