  • Working with render mask and transparency

    Hi all,

Unless I have missed a trick, I cant seem to find a way to use the render mask for objects that are behind a transparent object? I often need to use render mask on an object that sits behind glass. But in order to do that I must select the glass object since it sits in front. Which in doing so renders everything within its boundary.

    Thanks,

      Hello,

Unfortunately the render mask doesn't work with transparency due to refraction. If you only have opacity on your transparent objects it will work.

      Best regards,

Thanks, but then I assume I wont get that light bending shift with just using opacity? Therefore it won't be any good since the masked render wouldn't line up with the refracted version. No worries, I'll carry on region rendering. If only I could draw a custom shape to region render instead
