  • Maximizing VRAM Usage?

Does anybody have tips, tricks, or workflow ideas for getting the most amount of VRAM when rendering in Vray GPU mode?

I find my VRAM significantly occupied even before I click the render button and feel I'm missing out on precious memory that could help my renders.

Also, it seems like Vray only ever fully utilizes one of my gpus while the other maxes out at about 25% utilization. Any ideas why that might be?

you can close other programs, turn off windows aero effects and have no background wall paper to free up more vram. Also you can turn off textures in your viewport etc.

Where do you track the GPU utilization?
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Don't use Windows Task Manager to monitor GPU usage. There are tools like MSI Afterburner that do a lot better job.

I was surprised that memory tracking isnt available for GPU, where it is much more important.
Would be good if the new feature will be ported quickly over.
