  • V-Ray Quick Settings inconsistencies

I noticed two weird situations with the Quick Settings' dialogue that i don't understand.

This is in the 4.2 build

When i use Brute Force and Light Cache it tries to set the 'Light Cache Pre-Filter' but that setting is used by 'KD tree' not 'Hash map' which is set by default. Does this mean the setting is dismissed?
Same situation with 'Brute Force Subdivisions' it is set by the 'Quick Settings' dialogue but the option is grayed out since the 'Use Local Subdivisions' is disabled.

Should this be ignored or does it require for me to manually change from 'Hash map' to KD tree' and enable 'Use Local Subdivisions'?

    Just confused about this.

You should not use the quick settings script anymore, it's a leftover from a while ago.
Rather, start from default settings, and manually change sampler, noise threshold and LC subdivs and retrace to suit your needs (f.e. animation.).
    Tooltips will give you hints.

Lele is right, the quick settings are somewhat obsolete now and we should either revisit them or remove them.
