  • Tired of sales

Anyone else wish companies would sell their products at their best price instead of all these constant sales? Having just bought at full price and then a sale come up, doesnt endear me to the company.

    Its becoming like spam mail.

    grumble over.....

JC Penny's tried it and almost went out of business. People like sales, even if they are not saving money. We purchased a couch and soon after they had a big sale, so we went in to see how much we overpaid. The couch was marked higher than we paid and the before sale price was a lie. I do like Best Buy because I have a couple of weeks to get some money back if I find something I purchased cheaper someplace else. They also scan sales for you and if it is cheaper someplace else they'll tell you and give you it for that sales price.

Thankfully there's a huge difference between industries and even companies in same industries.
Bobby, imagine being able to scan all Archviz guys' prices and giving your clients a render for the price that the client can get it someplace else...
      Kind Regards,

Well, if the quality of the item was the exact same, then it'd force people to become smarter about their workflows, or force them out of business.
Luckily, artisan work is still unique in many ways, so those issues won't ever apply.

I use it the other way round. Decide what I would like (talking archviz stuff) and wait for the sales. Sometimes for project deadlines you have to buy full price, but it's not often.

yeah i agree but thats why its annoying and becoming like spam, yesterday loads more sale emails from model companies. I would much rather have an honest price than sales, seems like everyone is haggling.

By far the best company i've seen handle this is native instruments. When they have a new product coming out, the 'current' version goes on a pretty deep sale for a long time, then when the new version launches it's back to full price.

It's predictable, you can set your watch by it so it's fair, and you're not 'missing out' because you're buying the slightly older version and making a choice about which product to buy.
