  • Noisy Antialiasing ...

Hello everybody ... I have got some antialiasing problems here ... they are way too noisy and thus do not seem smooth anymore ...

Here's a an image to illustrate the problem ...

I've tried a lot ... GI settings as well as AA settings ... but I was not able to improve things a lot ...

Maybe someone can help ... maybe Vlado himself ...

    Here's the scene in zip-format ...

That's a problem that bothers me for a while now ... maybe I can solve that once and for all now ...

    Thanks in advance .... Andreas.

Set the Min/Max AA rate to 0/3 and it will be fine.

Also, you can optimize your materials. Currently, you have them set up like this:

    Material
Falloff Map in the Reflection slot
    VRayMap
    VRayMap

This will be slow, since the VRayMap will be called twice. It would be best to arrange things like this:

    Material
    VRayMap in the Reflection slot
Falloff map in the Reflection filter slot

It would be even faster if you use a VRayMtl material with just falloff map in the reflection slot, or with the Fresnel option checked.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

      Thanks Vlado ...

Great ... everything worked fine after setting Min/Max to 0/3 ... tried it with QMC-AA as well but with settings at 1/4 the result aren't satisfying ... I'll stick with the adaptive AA ...

Thanks for your help ... great support ...

      Regards ... Andreas.
