  • DIsplacement without edges?

Is there a way I can displace an object without displacing edges, so another words if I have a square plane with displaced pavers, is there anyway to keep the edges of that object intact, and placement?

Yes, ofcourse depending on how you do your mapping. Just use a texture where the border is white (or black depending) and touches your edges, use shift with a negative value of your displacement distance and your edges should stay intact. You can always use an edgetex or dirt map or similar to blend with the map if you don't have white or black edges/border but then you will need 3D displacement instead of 2D.
    A.

Thanks for the response, I was hoping there was a click to keep boarders button maybe for Vraydisplacement instead of using say a VrayDistanceTex to keep the boarders intact. A way to not effect the boarders is still handy instead of trying to get same results from mapping.
