Is there any tutorial somewhere about the new VRayToonMtl ?
I'm trying to figure out if it can be useful in archviz for some different approach or concept studies but docs seem to me a bit obscure
    Thanks

      Thanks, got it
...but what about outlines? Do I need to control them the old way? ...like an atmospheric effect, correct?

Yes, the outlines are still done through the VRayToon atmospheric effect.

        Best regards,

I'm having problems as well, mainly to anticipate the diffuse color. I know it's not supposed to be a physical correct shader (although I'm assuming the reflection aspect of it is) but it's really hard to combine VRayToonMtl with a VRaySun.

In this image I have three different renders. No GI and only lit with a VRaySun, from left to right:

          1. A VRayMtl with a VRayColor in the diffuse with default values, ie. a grey value of 128

          2. A VRayToonMtl with the same VRayColor instanced in the diffuse

          3. The same VrayToonMtl, but I changed the color to 100% white. It's not even close to the 50% grey in the first render

So the only way for me to get a brighter color in the last image is to change the photographic exposure, which in turn blows out the sky.

In these renders I used a EV of 13,5, but in order to get a somewhat 100% white diffuse color with the VRayToonMtl, I had to lower it to 9,035
