  • which AA filter

Which AA filter do you use when you're planning on going to dvd? Has anyone tried the video filter?

    video aa is seriously blurry.

I'd use mitchell with like .9 for blur.

Your in houston too huh? who are you working for?

Area filter is blurry for a reason. Look at it on TV - especially in motion.

unless you are doing fields for the dvd (which i advise to stay away from), i'd suggest not using video aa - too blurry

since dvd works with progressive frames, you dont need to blur the images that much - the fields are generated on playback...
hence you can stick to area/cook

for fields you're gonna need blurring (especially vertically), otherwise small (<2px) details tend to flicker a lot

Why doesn't anyone use cubic? it gives such a nice result with minimal moire patterning....
