  • Rendering Vray-Material single-sided

    Hello
I'm looking now to get a single sided Material.
I can look in the viewport into a box (with inverted normals) but in render with Vray Material it turns out grey
    (just a slight shadow visible)

How to solve this in Max, to render materials visible just from one side?

    thanks...

Try using a VRay2SidedMtl, the back material's opacity of which is mapped with a black VRayColor map.

      Thanks, 2-sided-material did not work.
I set opacity on 0 on a vray material, even as a test on both sub materials. also tried playing with translucency and with/without "force single sided submaterials".

What purpose do you need the single side material for?
Is it just so you can see inside the box at render time?

If so, then you can enable clipping in the camera's settings, or use a vrayclipper object
        Kind Regards,

Yes often for looking inside rooms and similar tasks. I will use camera clipping and change my workflow a bit.
          thanks!
