vray advanced vs vray free

I am rendering a basic room with windows, and a ball in the middle.
in vray free it is 27 secs.
in advanced...... 2mins

I have tried with light cache.. still 2 mins
the only way I get close is to drop the built in presets to very low and with only 2 passes I get it to 36 secs.

if I go custom and set the same as vray free it is back to 2:30mins.

can anyone else do a test using both systems and let me know if they have same issue

I don't have free installed so I can't compare directly, but I did get the render time from 1:11min to 25sec.

Try this set Hsph. Subdivs to 30,in Quasi-Monte Carlo GI rollout set Subdivs to 8, In the QMC sampler rollout set the noise threshold to .01 and the Global subs to .7

See how that compares to the free render, a few builds ago vray changed so that for the same settings it now takes more samples so to get the same quality as before you need to lower the settings.
