  • rendering quick animations on high-core counts.

as mentioned in other threads i have a 3990x. ive got a load of animation to render, but its stuff that takes 10-15 seconds a frame to render. it sometimes seems that the c.lockspeed barely has time to ramp up before its onto the next frame, and the scene setup/file saving takes almost as long as the renders.

in this case, would there be some benefit to rendering 2 or more frames consecutively on the same machine? is there any way to open 2 or more backburner servers on the same machine so it renders multiple frames at the same time?

    any advice most appreciated!

Just get Deadline, you can run multiple slaves(called "worker" now) on single machine, for free. Many times i run 8 servers on my workstation to utilize the CPU to 100%
