  • Slow Release of Memory

    Hi,

I work with very big files, hundreds of Mb, lots of xref, lights etc...When I do test renders, Vray loads all the maps, geometry etc, which, understandably, takes some time. When render is finished it starts to release / unload memory and that takes a lot of time, during witch my machine is basically locked. Sometimes it takes longer to unload memory then to do actual render itself (once it starts rendering). My machine is on 64 Mb of memory and I rarely reach that number. I tried switching between static/dynamic but with limited success. So my question is, is there any way to speed up this process or is it a matter of OS?. Is it possible to have a switch which will tell to Vray: "Don't unload memory, keep whatever is in there until user starts new render and if needed be, load/unload whatever is necessary".

    Currently on Vray 3.7, Win10, Max2014

I have video, 1.5 hours long demonstrating latest versions from pressing render to finish. Nothing changed
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?
