Seperate channel EXRs without transparency

When I save a multichannel EXR only the RGB shows up with transparency; the render elements are solid.

Is it possible to save that way in to seperate channel EXRs? When I do this each file has the transparency.

I know I could use TIF, but the files are massive. I want to use seperate channels so I can have them as linked smart objects in a 32bit photoshop comp
