  • Render Pass for an objects total contribution to the scene

    Hi guys

I was wondering if there is any way to render out a pass that contains only a particular object AND its contribution to the rest of the scene (GI, reflection refraction etc.)

I have an issue on a current job where a number of lighting installations are made up of objects with LightMtl combined with Vray Lights. This is being passed on to a re-toucher who wants to control each light type individually in photoshop. The LightSelect element (Full) captures the contribution for the lights nicely, but the only way to get the contribution for the LightMtl is to switch all lights off, and enable one LightMtl at a time and re-render once for each. See attached images. BackgroundLightSelect.jpg is my base layer LightSelect element, then added a LightSelect element for the red light only (RedLightSelect.jpg), then added the seperately rendered contribution for the Red Light LightMtl. I can do this for all lights to get back to RGB.jpg., but in a scene with 11 camera angles it is going to get a bit tedious to render out LightMtl renders for each angle.

It got me thinking that for any retouching it would be incredibly useful to render out any object AND its contribution as a render element, in the same way LightSelect works for lights, but having trawled forums and google can't see a way to do this. Is this doable?
