  • CUbemap 6x1 to equirectangular.

As title.... i have old Vray renderings with 6x1 cubemap ( some also stereo 12x1).
Is there a quick way to transform them to a more "compatible" equirectangular format?
    Regards.

Bear in mind post transformation isn't guaranteed to work out fine (pixel stretching), although going from cubic to equirectangular, you may not suffer from the issue that much.
Only re-rendering in the correct output format will ensure you'll get each pixel properly antialised.

I wonder if Vray can somehow render out equiangular cubemaps, EAC? I hear this is the best mapping option so far, with minimal pixel distortion.
Right now, the spherical render camera in Vray will render an equirectangular map.

Interesting examples of mapping types, and a tool (click on the author name.).

While we're on this subject, does anyone know if it's possible to make google photos recognise a cubemap? I've been converting to rectangular for the purposes of viewing/sharing on that platform, but it would be better if I could just use the cubemap I used to create them.
