  • Typo error in V-Ray environment variables

    Hey guys,
we noticed that there is a typography error in the environment variables, which are set upon installation of V-Ray. This caused trouble while installing the AxF-Plugin from X-Rite.
As you can see in the screenshot, the Value starts with a semicolon. We had this on all of our machines. Can you please check this?

Thanks for the report. This happens because the environment variable paths are not overridden but added via a semicolon (";"). In cases, such as yours, when 3ds max had, for example, V-Ray 3.7 installed, the NEXT environment variable remains empty, which upon re-installation of V-Ray NEXT a semicolon is added, since the installer thought that there was another string there. I've logged an improvement request about the matter (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-9940) for the installer to check if there is an empty string or if the variable is already set.

This explains why I had several semicolons, but my colleagues had only one. Thanks for the clarification, I hope it can be fixed.
