Heya folks! Congrats on the new release, liking the streaks in vray dirt! One place where I run into trouble is with wanting long streaks - do you think it'd be possible to have a separate radius for inner / ambient values? Inner occlusion blocks up on thin segments very quickly so having a second radius could make it handy to fix, especially if vray is doing the inner / outer as two separate calculations internally!

    Cheers!

Almost everything is possible, we just need enough time
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Having things like this and the coat and sheen settings in the main material make it very powerful for shading - we won't have to step out of a single shader for most things!

I'm trying to have the streaks work in a very simple scene but I'm failing terribly? do we need to pipe some texture for the streaks?

mmm well the UI in the promo video doesn't exist, does it? that is not the slate material. so Unless there is a new material editor i'm not aware of...

Any tutorial on how to do that streaks effect? activating the inner occlusion, strakes inner, and changing the streaks won't show any streak.... I might be doing something wrong for sure.

        I reply myself:

The bias in Z will make them appear.

I guess the promo video mockup UI was skipping some important settings.

Try setting your z bias to either 1.0 or -1.0!

We didn't want to clutter the video with settings, after all it was a marketing video, not a tutorial

Also don't forget we will have streaks in all DCCs and the Z axis is not always up

Does anyone know why with inner occlusion is getting darker result?
Even with extremely lower radius doesn't change anything.

                Hello narsov,

I responded to your question in your thread: https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...nner-occlusion
It should be alright tomorrow. Thanks for pointing this out!
