Very nice. I just saw it on TV last night. My friends were with me laughing.

Cheers for the positive comments
I had a pretty good feeling about these, the scripts were great when they came to me in the first place, so I thought it would be worthwhile putting my short on hold
in response to some of your questions:
terrain was just plain old geometry, but it started out as a dreamscape terrain. the rocks were hand modelled and placed. dreamscape was used to render the sky in the first place, which was then saved out as a cylindrical map and put back in the scene (rendered quicker) we used standard fog for the distance haze since it rendered quicker in Vray. Water was dreamscape water, fur was hairFX, dust FX were afterburn and cloth simulation was simcloth. the water splash particles were pretty simply rendered particle flow systems. Actually they were so small onscreen that we could use just a preview with a couple of judiciously applied filters for the final comps
the T-rex 60 second was rendered out at 2048x871 with black padding for output to film in cinemas - it was pretty cool chucking out frames that had motion blur, displacement, geometry hair, an area light sun and GI all at film rez and all rendering at film rez in an hour a frame or less, so suffice to say, I've become quite a fan of Vray - the motion blur in particular is excellent (I don't like the look of post motion blur at all)
the one thing I missed was being able to simulate anamorphic lenses for the DOF, which is one thing I'd sold as part of the look to the agency (and the vray developers said promised would be in the next build about 5 builds ago!)
so Vlado - any chance you can chuck it into the next build so we can do this for the next set? we still have 3 more of these things to finish!
cheers,
Ruairi

Hey guys, we're currently working on the second set of these commercials, and need an experienced 3dsmax character animator to work with us at short notice for the next couple of months. We don't have the time or resources to train people up at the moment, so we need someone that can hit the ground running and start setting keyframes straight away, and produce work that's at least as good, or preferably better than the animation in the first 3 commercials. So if you are this person, or know someone that's available, please get in contact with us ASAP. We'd prefer to view reels online for the sake of immediacy, but if you gotta send it by snailmail. please send it to:

Ah, i should have learned Character Animation a bit earlier - those clips are really cool! A question i had on cgtalk already... did you write the script for those things or who is the one with the sick humor... (a little brutal but cool. You know what i mean... )
Keep it UP!
Definately waiting for more of those...Sascha Geddert

well I liked the animation clips you showed me on IRC, very promising
I didn't write the scripts, the agency would generally do that, though there was some back and forth about how some of the stories should be resolved, but I can't claim credit for the scripts
