  • VRayBitmap(VRayHDRI) preview window position

What is the basis for determining the image preview window position of VRayBitmap(VRayHDRI) map?
It seems that it is always displayed at the bottom right of the fixed screen.

We want to place the image preview window in the position specified by the user in a multi-monitor environment.

    Is there a solution?

    Hi flat,

If you are referring to the 3ds Max MaterialPreview window, it can be dragged and docked to any side of the Slate Material editor or dragged directly to another monitor.

If you wish to achieve something else, please provide more details and possibly some screenshots so we can get a better idea of the issue.

I'm talking about "Image preview window".

I want to know how to control the initial position of this window

The standard maxscript method (for max bitmap loaders) has no parameters, and as such doesn't allow for any control of the created frame buffer.
I've opened a jira (# 10288 ) to create a similar method for the vrayBitmap loader, but with the means to set its position.

          Hello, Mr. Lele

          Thank you for the information.
At the moment, there seems to be no way to control it.

From our customers (I am a Japanese VRay reseller), it seems that there are cases where the Preview window is displayed in the following positions in a three monitor environment.

We hope that we can find some solution in the future.

Thank you very much for the additional information, Yamauchi-san.
Yes, we are actively working on a solution to be able to reposition the window as per a user's wish.

              Hello

This issue also occurs in V-Ray 6, Update1. (also a question from my customer)

The 3ds Max default bitmap loader image preview window remembers its closed position.
However, VRayBitmap's image preview window does not remember its position.

This is especially annoying in multi-monitor environments.
It seems that it is always displayed on the last monitor number in a multi-monitor environment.

I would like the behavior to be like the 3dsMax default bitmap loader.
