  • Light select element direct lighting mask

I notice the light select RE has some new functionality. Would it be possible to create an element that could be used as a mask in compositing for where the direct rays from a particular light fall?

    Hi busseynova,

You can use the VRayLightSelect's Direct Raw mode (screenshot), where lighting within the VRayLightSelect element behaves as a raw render element.

Thanks, I think I tried that and it didn't quite do the job, although it could probably be used with a little messing. What does the 'raw' part translate to in this case?

This would be the direct lighting contribution to a given surface, not multiplied by the diffuse color or affected by specular reflection.

Thanks, I did get it to work for my use in the end.
