  • *HELP* VRAY5 support for Legacy VCCGLB files with VFBL

    Hi ALL
I have a TON of projects and scenes using Vray 3.6 VCCGLB files to adjust the final look.
I can't figure out how to load them in the frame buffer in VRay 5
Does Vray 5 support them? How can I convert them to VFBL files.
Any Help is appreciated as I'm tyring to update our Production Pipeline.

    Hi mikegentile,

Currently, it is not possible to load the old vccglb presets in VFB2, I'm afraid. You will need to manually replicate any adjustments from VFB1 to VFB2. That being said, we are actively looking for a solution to integrate VFB1 Color Corrections into VFB2 - we will let you know when it is done.

Thanks for the reply Nikoleta. Hopefully you have a solution soon.
Do you know if I can install both versions of Vray? This way I can choose based on the project which one to launch.

You cannot, at least inside the same version of Max.
Installing and uninstalling V-Ray is extremely quick, and safe, anyway.
It'd take you perhaps a minute to do so on a single workstation.

          Lele Thanks.
I'm assuming we can upgrade Vray in the new version of Max
          for Example
use Max2018 for existing projects with Vray3.6
use Max2021 with Vray 5 for new projects moving forward

Unistalling and installing per project is not an option with our farmneeds.

ps Great work from over the years!

Yes, that would work (and indeed, it'd be laborious to process the installation on a farm.).
You'd also be able to save from max 2021 into max v2018, so you could go both ways (with caveats, of course. new stuff won't be present in v-ray 3.x, and likewise for max).

p.s.: i had missed your p.s. Thank you!
