  • Hue off

    Hi,

i try to get a specific Pantone sample color displaying and rendering correctly as it important to the client.
I have a simple vray5 workflow, nothing fancy, with filmic tonemap set to default, simple vray exposure control in the env tab settings.
the map is a self illuminating jpg, simple vray dome light set a 30

the hue seems off, especially with filmic tonemap, but even without it seems different.

what would be the correct setup to have the same color and the reference image?

    thanks!

attached : without tonemap, with tonemap

might have found the mistake, i just have to enable srgb in the colortransfer option in vraybitmap
but it might just be luck on this example, i tried other situations where its less obvious

You'll get those close under LWF only.
Filmic will wreck havoc on the color precision: it's meant to be perceptual (read: contrasty.).

With Acescg workflow set up in Ocio, would it be better ?

Currently the sRGB aces view transform has a contrast curve applied, so nope, i wouldn't think so.
          But you're welcome to try!
