Long after it'reached to noise threshold
    Why?

  • #2
How do you check the noise amount in the render?
I think you have mistaken the noise threshold with the noise amount here.
Vray starting from 3.3 use what's called dynamic noise threshold for progressive rendering.
Vray will use a high noise threshold at the start of the rendering and when a good amount of pixels reach this threshold Vray will lower it till it gets to the one that the user specified under the render setting and then continue refining till all the pixels meet this value.
this way Vray makes sure that the amount of noise is relatively uniformly distributed and you won't have an area where it is too clean where other areas are still noisy.
I think this came up here in the forum several times so there should be a note somewhere in the documentation about it.

Simply, I love to put pixels together! Sounds easy right : ))

      Thanks for the explanation M.Max
It takes about half an hour until it reaches the noise threshold I set.
It then works for another hour or so on the denoiser and lens effect until it finishes rendering. There does not seem to be any change at this time

roysgi is it possible to forward us a sample scene with the issue reproducible so we can have a better look? You can write to support@chaosgroup.com (make sure to mention this thread in the email) and we will reply as soon as possible. Thanks!
