  • Specular problems

Guys why can’t I get specular highlights in vray. I seem to never be able to get specular highlites on my objects. Here is a rendered scene, along with screen grabs of the material settings as well as render settings. Is their something im missing?

Please help because my renderings look flat without them.

you need to up the reflectivity of it. you have it set to black or near black.

In conjuction with that, if you need true reflections you'll probably have to use true glossies . In this case though I think you can turn off "trace reflections" and just use the fake glossies, that way you can turn the reflectivity up without it becomeing a mirror..

or you can use shellac and your base mat as vray and standart or some other mat as multiplied mat with color set to 0,0,0 and specularity then it will produce spec with no reflection needed
