Viewport Preview captures in VRay IPR mode?

I thought this was possible, but I can't seem to get it to work in 2021. Can you turn on IPR and then do an animation viewport preview with either tyPreview or max's default preview? It'd make for a hell of a decent preview quality, but I can't get it to work. Anyone have a process for this they could share?

You mean Max's Preview Animation tool, right? Viewport IPR cannot be used for it, I'm afraid. These functions are separate and both have their purposes. It would be easier to use production rendering with VFB2's 'Test resolution' option for a quick preview.
