  • What's the state of Corona->V-ray scene conversion these days?

I'm noticing over the past 18 months that a lot of items on the likes of Turbosquid and 3dsky are now Corona only; eg this car model https://3dsky.org/3dmodels/show/pors...ycan_turbo_s_2

How closely matched are things, are there still particular shaders that don't convert very well?

Here is a list of the current V-Ray converter's possibilities.

      Thanks for the list
I know it is not easy, but could you support corona color correct conversion? or even better, support the map itself.
      Thank you

Simply, I love to put pixels together! Sounds easy right : ))

See Aleksander's post here, apparently that map is natively supported in V-ray when rendering on CPU

is there a list somewhere of all the Corona textures that are supported in V-ray without need for conversion?
I see you mention on the Corona forums about CoronaColorCorrect

There isn't such a list, I'm afraid, Most Corona textures (that use the 3ds Max interface) are renderable with V-Ray (GPU and Cloud are a bit different though), however, textures that use specific Corona data are not. We'll see if we can make such a list and add it to the documentation.

It'd be even cooler if maps and shaders were listed as compatible.
It'd save people to go and manually check online.

Can you convert corona materials to vray without having corona installed?

No, as without Corona installed the materials' classes will be unknown to Max itself, and just opening a corona-based scene would result in errors.
You can definitely convert without license, however.
