Rendering Animation: "Lock noise pattern" on or off?

Hello,
I wonder which is the best default for animation rendering:
DMC > Lock noise pattern ON or OFF?

2. And in case I'm using the Denoiser in animation, the same?

In my experience it's better to not lock it for animation, as it will look like a static overlay and so a bit weird.
Maybe there is a reason for it to be locked but I can't think of one.
There was another post in which Vlado seemed to say that locking it helped with sampling, though you would still get the weird static overlay so I can't see
that that is a good idea really

I read in some cases with "trying" to use Denoise in Animation it could be better locked.
But no explanation why.
"Locked" seemed to me once looking like a strange overlay, too.
